In her final year at Georgetown, Yasmine conducted research on the representation of women in pre-revolutionary Egyptian Cinema. Yasmine combined anthropological studies, feminist texts and historical context to build a theoretical framework to analyze two contemporary Egyptian films and chart the evolution of women on the screen. The project was a labour of love, combining her interests in film, media and Arab culture. The thesis was subsequently awarded honors by Georgetown's faculty committee.
